Recommendations regarding travel to countries where

World health organisation does not recommend restricting international travel of people and goods to and from countries where "pandemic H1N1 2009" is registered.

VACCINE AGAINST THIS TYPE OF INFLUENZA STILL DOES NOT EXIST.

Considering that new influenza "pandemic H1N1 2009" is airbone disease (transmitted by close contact), it is recommended when staying in countries where "pandemic H1N1 2009" is registered, to follow general hygienic measures for perventing airbone infections:
  • Frequently wash hands using soap and running water, especially after coughing and sneezing (or use an alcohol-based hand gel)[/li]
  • Maintain respiratory hygiene (cover both mouth and nose with disposable tissue when coughing and sneezing, and those should be disposed in a trash can
  • Avoid close contact with people suffering from acute respiratory insfections who have fever and caugh
  • Avoid crowded enclosed spaces
  • Ventilation of rooms reduces virus concentration in the rooms and is often more effective measure than air desinfection
  • Regular cleaning and washing of surfaces in your surrounding
  • Antiviral medications are used only recommended by a physician
  • Masks are not recommended, except for persons with disease symptoms, their accompaniment and health personnel.

These recommendations are being applied in current phase of "pandemic H1N1 2009" virus circualtion, aiming at reducing virus spreading.
